News > Punisher 2 Starts Filming in October

Lionsgate is "overhauling" the Punisher franchise, says Variety, and has set an October start date for the sequel starring Ray Stevenson (Rome) in the old skull suit. Stevenson is the third Punisher after Dolph Lundgren in 1989 and Tom "I just want my kids back" Jane in 2004. Former world-kickboxing champion Lexi Alexander will direct and aim for an R rating. The script has been written by Nick Santora, Kurt Sutter, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. The new film will be set in New York, where Frank Castle will go up against some unknown big time mobster. I feel like most of this information has come out already, but maybe just in dribbles. In any event, it looks like this movie is actually happening whether you like it or not.
