Underworld: Rise of the Lycans will be directed by the series' former creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos, with former director Len Wiseman on as producer.

The prequel will present how the Lycans, led by Lucien (Michael Sheen), rise up against the vampires and their king Viktor (Bill Nighy) to pave the way for future installments of the franchise–and Kate Beckinsdale in a catsuit.

While sadly there will be no Kate Beckinsdale in a catsuit, there will be no Scott Speedman either. The film promises to look at the series through the Lycans' eyes, but for what? More blurry, dark CGI-inspired fight sequences? Doesn't everyone already die anyway? Oh, whatever.
