I give a lot of films the benefit of the doubt. But not this one. Yes, friends, I'm afraid they've screwed up the Punisher again.

The Tom Jane 2004 film left a lot to be desired, but this… this is not the path to redemption. Please watch the teaser trailer so you can see what I mean.

Is it just me, or was that some blue variant of the ooze from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II"? Fans started ribbing Ray Stevenson months ago for his passing resemblance to Steven Seagal, but they had no idea how spot-on they were. This candy-colored, hyper-choreographed extravaganza looks like some serious direct-to-DVD movie junk. Not to mention it seems to take a lot of its action cues directly from "The Boondock Saints."

No one ever called Marvel infallible, but it's a sad state of affairs when you're thinking back fondly on the days of Dolph.
