In addition to doing well in the US box office during its opening weekend, "Wanted" opened huge worldwide as well, with a take of $33 million. With its violent content, comic book pedigree, strong US box office and even stronger overseas pull, "Wanted" is sounding a lot like this year's "300."
A big part of that $33 million was made in Russia, where the film's Russian director, Timur Bekmambetov, has opened huge in the past (with his "Night Watch" flicks).
Keep your eye on "Wanted" as one of the surprise biggest earners of the summer.
