This is still in the rumor stage, but the word is that Billy Bob Thornton has joined the cast of D.J. Caruso's Eagle-Eye. This is the film that Rosario Dawson chose to do over Kevin Smith's Zach and Miri Make a Porno some time ago. The film is a thriller conceived of by Steven Spielberg in which Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan must join a terrorist organization plotting to assassinate a political figure. Dawson will play a federal agent who gets into the mix somehow, but Thornton's role is still unknown.

Based on this and The Informers, it sounds like 2008-2009 is going to be Billy Bob redemption time following the miserable batch of Billy Bob comedies that audiences have suffered through over the past two or three years.
