News > Bruckheimer's Persia can take place whenever, dude.

Written by John Lichman

Leave it to Jerry Bruckheimer to not let a little thing like dates or historical setting to get in the way of a movie–eh, Pirates of the Carribean?

Wanting to get Prince of Persia ready for 2009 release as early as June '08, Bruckheimer was posed the question of filming a period piece. You know, pre-gunpowder, robots, flying things and Linkin Park.

Bruckheimer's response:

I guess it’s the 8th or 9th Century, but that could change to. It might change a little bit, we’re not sure yet. It’ll definitely be a period film; we’re not going to make it contemporary.

Yeah, 8th or 9th is cool. Whatever, dude. And the Prince could be, I dunno, a King or something. Or maybe a squire. Total whatevs!
