If you’re a fan of the original, you’ll like this movie. It’s nothing life changing but if you’re a grumpy man’s man who thinks you’re not going to like this movie, you’re wrong. I’m a grumpy man’s man and I laughed my ass off at a lot of the jokes. Surprisingly, Christopher Walken’s performance was one of the worst in the movie. Amanda Bynes, John Travolta and Elijah Kelley gave the strongest performances. That’s right…John Travolta is good in this film. Guys, trust me, it’s actually a funny movie. Most of the musical sequences are played like a joke as well, so if you’re not a fan of musicals, you can get your laugh in too.

And as a bonus, if you’ve got a lady you’re seeing, there’s a nice love story at the center that she’ll like. But that shouldn’t make you embarrassed at laughing at some of the funniest jokes from a movie this summer (obviously not in Knocked Up or Superbad’s league, but blows Evan Almighty out of the water…pun INTENDED).
