It is–in fact–the perfect fanboy rumor, and fitting that it comes from the fanboy overlords at AICN, but the home that Fat Harry built has a rumor that's too sweet to pass up. In fact, when you see Iron Man next year, you may get a cameo from a certain Green Monster. Wait, I have that mixed up. When you see The Incredible Hulk next year, you may see a certain Shellhead streaking across the sky–wait, no.
Maybe there'll be some Hulk in my Iron Man and some Iron Man in my Hulk!
The "Adamantium Doom Machine" writes Moriarty:
There are some fuzzy politics going on with the Iron Man and Hulk movies - they're shooting a scene TOGETHER! The trouble is, I can't tell if its an Iron Man scene with the Hulk in in or a Hulk scene with IRON MAN in it, more interestingly, it's possible that the SAME SCENE or some variation of it might be in BOTH movies lending to the comic book / single universe, many heroes idea seen in the past - uber cool.
It would gel with the Sam Jackson as Nick Fury semi-confirmed rumor floating about, but shows Marvel is more than willing to build up their characters in a similar world–you know, aside from the fact that Spider-Man, X-Men, Daredevil and Ghost Rider aren't connected at all. But the biggest concern of these "team-ups" has always been who owns who. Since Hulk is property of Universal and Iron Man is Paramount, the legal tape is more of a hassle than the ten seconds of screen time are worth.
It makes the irony that Warner Brothers–who owns the rights to all DC characters–can't orchestrate a comic film all the better.
But for all the nay-say, it would be cool to see two known characters square off or even acknowledge each other for a brief second. But would most people get the joke if Ed Norton was shown next to Robert Downey Jr. at a charity ball? Or if Downey is seen at a lab that Norton is sneaking into for some unknown reason? But in a world where the Hulk can turn red and Iron Man becomes a fascist, I guess anything's possible.
