News > Japanese CGI "Resident Evil" Feature Coming

Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan will team up to make a cartoon based on the "Biohazard" series of games (which are known in the US as "Resident Evil"). The cartoon, which will be called "Biohazard: Degeneration," will be 3-D CGI graphics and will follow a brand new story. It's scheduled for release the 2nd half of 2008 in Japan and though nothing has been stated yet, I'm sure the cartoon will see a US release in some form down the line.

For those who don't know (which should be very few of you), the "Resident Evil/Biohazard" series of games (and movies…and comics…) surrounds a chemically-induced zombie attack on the human population, which, throughout the games, has ranged from a single house's zombie infestation to the entire world being overrun with the undead.

Though the heat off the "Resident Evil" games has cooled in recent years, the film version (starring Milla Jovovich) has kept public interest in the franchise worldwide. Hopefully more info will trickle out soon.

First off, the "heat" I think was rekindled by RE4. That game sold millions of copies and got all kinds of acclaim.

If you're not interested in this movie, though, go back and watch the FMV sequences from the RE1 remake on the GameCube or RE0 on the same system and tell me you're not anticipating this.

The movies are more accessible to millions more people so i think he was right to begin with. Granted RE4 is leagues better than a single frame from any of the RE flicks.

RE4 on the Wii makes me pee myself a little bit when I play. Not a lot, just a little bit.
