The very busy John Cusack has signed on to star in The Factory, a psychological thriller from Joel Silvers Dark Castle Productions and to be distributed by Warner Bros. It will be directed by its co-writer Morgan O'Neill, the winner of Australia's Project Greenlight. His writing partner for the film was Australian actor Paul Leydenand who has starred in As the World Turns and LAX.
According to The Hollywood Reporter,
Cusack will play an obsessed cop who, with his partner, is on the trail of a serial killer prowling the streets of Buffalo, N.Y. When his teenage daughter disappears, the cop drops any professional restraint and goes all out to get the killer.
Shooting is scheduled to begin this January. This comes on the heels of the news two days ago that Cusack would star in a period film called Shanghai. He has also recently been working on the thriller Stopping Power with Jan de Bont.
