Matt Reeves, the mostly-overshadowed director of Cloverfield, has started talks with Paramount to direct a sequel to the hit monster movie. He has also struck a deal to direct a thriller based on his own screenplay called The Invisible Woman. According to Variety, which film comes next depends largely on how quickly a deal can be worked out amongst Reeves, producer J.J. Abrams, and writer Drew Goddard. The sequel may in fact end up being Reeves's next film.
The Invisible Woman is described as "a Hitchcock-style thriller that probes the mind of a former beauty queen who turns to a life of crime to protect her family." Reeves wrote it, and will produce with Abrams, John Penotti, actor Fisher Stevens and Tim Williams.
