Heartthrob, and future sci-fi convention staple, Orlando Bloom will take on another historical drama set to begin filming later this year.

The as yet unnamed project is set in Sarajevo in the midst of the Bosnian War. The film will be loosely based on real-life American writer Bill Carter and his experiences during the bloody, early 90's conflict.

According to Bloom the role offers him the chance to get away from the big budget films like Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean that have, so far, defined his entire acting career.
