Natalie Portman will play the wife of Tobey Maguire in the upcoming adaptation of Brothers, according to Variety.

Based on Susanne Bier's 2004 film, Maguire's character is shipped off to Afghanistan while his wife is left in the care of his "black sheep" brother, played by Jake Gyllenhaal [which some spell as "Heath Ledger" if they weren't drinking their morning coffee.-john]

Shooting begins this November.
