Though not quite the best episode in the series, Order of the Phoenix brings a great mixture of adult themes and mature subject matter that help you grow with t…

On 10 Most Controversial Horror Films at 10/25/2007 2:59pm

Forget horror flicks, I still can't watch Gus Van Sant's Elephant. Now THAT is some freaky shit.

On Timberlake to Co-Star in Love Guru at 08/23/2007 12:10pm

I would highly suggest Alpha Dog to you then. I didn't expect much going into it, but got quite a bit out of it. Timberlake does a GREAT job, probably the best actor in the film. And like you said, he's a great host of SNL, and does great work with that show, so it wouldn't surprise me if he is another hit here.

And who doesn't want more Hollywood hockey films? I know I'm excited. :D

Which hockey team? Go Sens Go??

And if I might add, Timberlake is actually a good actor. I know, I know, shoot me, call me "retarded" (seems to be the word of the week here on Filmwad), but have you seen Alpha Dog? He was great in it, which was a huge surprise.

On Justice League Movie to be CGI/Motion Capture? at 08/23/2007 07:47am

That's the thing though, won't they theoretically NEED to have Bale and Routh in this flick? Was this decision made possibly because it would be easier to get the two into the film if they were digitally animated? Bring them in for a bit of V/O work for a few million bucks and BAM! You got yourself a half-way decent Justice League flick. To be honest, I never saw this movie getting made if it was live action, it just seemed too, I don't know, just too damn unlikely.

On McFarlane, Olson to Reinvent Oz at 08/22/2007 11:39am

As long as they use McFarlanes Oz characters I'm in. But I would much prefer seeing a big screen Alice finally hit.

On Michael Bay: "No Transformers 2 for Me!" at 08/22/2007 09:24am

From Bay's Blog:

"Last night at dinner I was having dinner with three Blu-Ray owners, they were pissed about no Transformers Blu-Ray and I drank the kool aid hook line and sinker. So at 1:30 in the morning I posted - nothing good ever comes out of early am posts mind you - I over reacted. I heard where Paramount is coming from and the future of HD and players that will be close to the $200 mark which is the magic number. I like what I heard.

As a director, I'm all about people seeing films in the best quality possible, and I saw and heard firsthand people upset about a corporate decision.

So today I saw 300 on HD-DVD, it rocks!

So I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2!

Michael Bay"

That didn't last long.

On Michael Bay: "No Transformers 2 for Me!" at 08/22/2007 07:42am

I was just saying, theres lots of other options out there. Brett Ratner, though not my first pick (a spot I definitely would not have put Bay in), is not a terrible director. As for him killing the Xmen franchise with X3, even the best director can't make shitty writing into a decent movie. It's not like he wrote the thing, so why should all the blame be on him? The biggest problem with the flick was the story, I actually thought the cinematography, direction and flow were very well done, regardless if the movie was brainless and completely ruined what the films had setup before them.

On Michael Bay: "No Transformers 2 for Me!" at 08/21/2007 4:07pm

Is this really a bad thing? Not that Bay did a terribly bad job with Transformers, but could a fresh face maybe make the film just that much better? What is JJ Abrams doing in a year? Hell, what about Joss Whedon, Kevin Smith, Sam Raimi, Brett Ratner, or even Alfonso Cuarón?

There's tons of other directors that are even more talented than Bay, so if he wants to be childish and play this game, who cares? It's not like he's the only person in the world who can make a Transformers movie anyways, its big fucking robots kicking the shit out of each other with Megan Fox looking hot as hell, I could direct that!
