News > Raimi to Direct Titans Remake?

To clarify, that's Titans as in "Clash of the…" not as in "Remember the…" as I'm sure some of the smarter-asses of you may have already internally quipped.

With Sam Raimi at the helm, this may be a remake project I can actually get behind.  A retelling of the Myth of Perseus through the manic eye of Raimi?  I like the original, but have faith that Raimi could be the perfect choice to give it a face-lift while retaining the charm that makes it a cult classic.  But who'll play Perseus?  No offense, Gerard Butler, but you're disqualified.

I'm up for anyone that's MASCULINE in the role or if they want to keep the "femme Perseus" feel then at least hire an actress. I love Clash but Perseus was kind of a wuss in it. My biggest wish would be a budget that isn't too freakin' massive so Raimi won't go bonkers on effects and let them overwhelm the flick. Then again, at least they didn't hand this over to Stephen Sommers. Raimi definitely has the chops for this type of movie.

Who else hated that damn owl in the original?

Interesting...Sam Raimi? Hmmm...I have to think about this one.

OH NICE. I've always wanted this picture to be re-made with today's CGI, but I have to say that the claymation fx used in this movie are still pretty good to look at.
