News > Rockwell, Clement, Angarano are Gentlemen Broncos

Written by David Morgan

Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) has recruited some of the primary cast for his upcoming third feature Gentlemen Broncos. Twenty year-old Michael Angarano (The Forbidden Kingdom) will play the lead, "a high school outcast who attends a camp for writers where his story gets ripped off by a legendary fantasy novelist" (The Hollywood Reporter). The fantasy novelist (named Ronald Chevalier) will be played by Jemaine Clement, also known as half of the hilarious New Zealand folk parody duo Flight of the Conchords. Sam Rockwell (Choke, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) will play the fictional hero of the teen's novel and will appear in fantasy sequences in both the teen's version of the novel as well as the author's.

Jared Hess wrote the film with his wife Jerusha, and it will be produced by Mike White (screenwriter of School of Rock, Orange County) and Ben LeClair.
