Whoa. I didn't really see this one coming. Christian Bale himself, at least according to IFMagazine, has confirmed that Russell Crowe has joined the cast of The Dark Knight. Before you get your panties in a bunch, you should know that Crowe's part will most likely be confined to a small speaking, or even smaller non-speaking role. Even so, it will be nice to see Mr. Gladiator himself in the upcoming Batman flic. Check out Bale's confirmation below:

Russell’s going to actually be in the new BATMAN movie, which is a big surprise and I want to reveal it to everybody right now,” said Bale, who wouldn’t disclose any more info.

Crowe or not, The Dark Knight is shaping up into one of 2008's most highly anticipated films.
