Here's something we didn't see coming…looks like "Knocked Up" and "Superbad" star Seth Rogen will play the lead role of Zack in Kevin Smith's upcoming "Zack & Miri Make a Porno." This news isn't shocking because we think Rogen might be wrong for the role (though we haven't read the script, he seems a perfect fit for the Smith-created View Askew-averse) but because this HAS to be one of the only non-Judd Apatow related productions we've heard about Rogen signing up for (and that's like EVER…anything we've seen him do since "Freaks and Geeks" has been Apatow-affiliated).

Rogen's "40-Year-Old Virgin" co-star Elizabeth Banks will play Miri (for anyone who forgot, she was Beth, the chick who puts the shower head up her…welll).

With the combination of a raunchy but marketable plot (two friends decide to make a porno for some quick cash…and then they FALL IN LOVE) and a somewhat bankable cast, this might be one of Smith's highest grossing projects to date.
