Stardust is an excellent fantasy epic and Matthew Vaughn shines as the director. I was a bit skeptical with Layer Cake, but after seeing Stardust I’ll have to admit now that Matthew Vaughn would have been perfect for X-men 3. Hardcore fans of the graphic novel are definitely going to be a tad upset with the film translation, but in all honesty the movie did not in any way harm the source material. It’s still summer time folks, so enjoy these “fun summer” movies while they last.

P.S. Was it just me, or did Claire Danes get infinitely hotter in this film?

Great film in my opinion. Starts off a bit sudden and unexplained but it really did present an enjoyable story. I'm glad they didnt over-do the action and stuff. It could have been murdered by action/fight/chases over and over. But it was nice to see some moderation in the eye-candy for a change. Bit of a cutsey story with the stars and love n all. Definitely a chick flick of monolithic proportions, but honestly, Robert D's character makes for a great and amusing distraction from the soppy stuff. Well worth a see especially with the missus.
