Tropic Thunder's "star's" site is up and running, with hilarious results. It's exactly what you'd expect from a Ben Stiller character…

The website for the star of the movie within a movie, Tropic Thunder, is up and running. The site, www.tuggspeedman.com, is home to the biography, filmography, and favorite charity of the actor Tugg Speedman (played by Ben Stiller). You'll have to read it for yourself, but it looks like the humor is right on track with Stiller's quirky sense. I personally love his favorite charity page...

As for the movie itself, I've got mixed emotions about it. I can't tell whether this is going to be really funny or really bad yet. And the fact that Robert Downey Jr. is playing a white man playing a black man will either be really, really hilarious...or really, REALLY disturbing. I'm praying for the former. I guess we'll see how it plays out. After all, they did do the same thing with White Chicks, and nobody got upset. Let's just hope this is funnier...

Not a coincidence that it looks like this: http://www.tomcruise.com/ although Tom's site is much funnier.

I wanted to see this movie, because of the big actor names, the trailer was funny and I thought the story would be interesting. What I saw absolutely disgusted me. It was an example of a new low in what our culture finds funny. From a heroin addict, tied to a tree begging to be released while offering oral sex to someone to release him to constantly making a joke out of homosexuality. The movie also attempts to profit from countless jokes directed toward the mentally disabled. The movie had a heavy focus on the drug addiction of one of its main actors, the most profanity I can ever remember hearing in a movie, numerous scenes of alcohol abuse, sexual references and sexual simulated movements. There seemed to be an atmosphere of disgust amongst many of the movie watchers as we left the theater. The pyrotechnics were exciting, but didn't compensate for the perpetuation of filth pushed throughout the movie. Disappointing to see the actors resorting to a new low for humor. It shows me, even our most talented actors (Stiller, Gooding Jr., Cruise and others) have no moral restraints when it comes to trying to bring in the big bucks. Movie needs to be rated NC-17 or something along the lines of F for filthy.

A moral flop as much as a cinematic one, and sad reflection on where our culture of humor is going. Embarrassing.
